website: www.lwars.com

The Lake Whitney Amateur Radio Society was chartered in 1991 as a non-profit organization, with a mission of serving the community and to encourage growth of the amateur hobby. Through the years, the club has gained notoriety as one of the most active ham clubs in Central Texas, as we participate in Field Day, the Texas QSO Party, Dx Contests, public demonstrations , mobile DXing, antenna parties, VE sessions, and much more. The LWARS owns and operates a two-meter repeater at 146.02/62 (tone 123). We meet the third Saturday of each month at 10:00 A.M. at the Whitney Library in downtown Whitney.
